This week, a first edition of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice will go under the hammer at Heritage Auctions of Beverly Hills, California. One of the earliest modern novels, and regarded as one of the most influential, most imitated, and most admired pieces of English literature ever written, this first edition published by T Egerton, Heritage Auctions expects it to reach at least $30 000. Six other Austen first editions will also be up for bid, when the auction is held October 14th, and 15th, 2010.
